_______________________________ . . . . . . | In 2002 I moved with
my family to my wife’s hometown in the North Rhine-Westphalia region of
Germany, after working for two decades with some of the best chefs and
living the exciting times of the ever evolving New York Food and Wine scene.
This unexpected and
daring change, prompt me to do one of the things I loved the most,
travel through Europe’s wine regions and search for small wine growers,
producing distinguished wines with individuality and an artisanal
approach to viticulture and winemaking.
This auspicious wine
selection that started in 2004 is in fact a selection of growers,
small-family run wineries that usually do not employ non-family members
and work in coherence with nature, utilizing natural sensitive work in
the vineyard and cellar, resulting in a small production of a pure and
distinctive wine that reflects its place of origin and is imbued with
the soul of the people responsible for its production.
With the
increasing standardization and uniformity of the ever growing wine
universe, I am very proud to import these wines that are in the most
part available in the U.S. for the first time, giving this growers a
chance to show case their products and likewise the American consumers an
opportunity to discover such unique wines. The new era
of wine making and its pioneers >>> Savio
